IF YOU REALLY want to hear about it, the first thing you’ll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don’t feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth. (In case that was too subtle for you I am a big fan of The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger)
In any case I am employed as a Linux Systems Engineer at Rackspace in San Antonio, TX.
I spent the majority of my college years as an Astrophysics major specializing in black holes. When I got to my senior year and was studying 40 hours a week to stay on track I decided to bail and pursue an easier career.
I spend the majority of my time now contributing to WordPress, developing WordPress plugins, helping out in the WordPress IRC Channel, playing football (not American!), and last but not least, spending time with my Wife and Son.
With that out of the way enjoy this site…There will be more to come.
How did you come up with the name Sivel? Reason I found you was because I wanted to search for my name. Not a common name, as far as I know. Just curious …. care to share?

Thank you for your work on shadowbox. It took me a while to find this plugin for wordpress, but it was worth the searc. You have dramatically improved my site with the code you have written. Thank you.
Came here by way of #wordpress (muraii). Entering the final year of a math degree (long story), and I’m feeling a similar bug. I’m going to finish, but I’m curious: how did you transition to a Linux admin? Maybe there’s a post on that?
@Sivel: One night at college I was wearing a Levis Shirt that only said “LEVIS” across the front. An inebriated friend started saying it backwards and it stuck. Several of my friends to this day still call me Sivel (pronounced like the word civil).
